1:1 Writing e-Coaching

A 1-hour personalised coaching session delivered online to support early-career researchers and graduate students in advanced, long-form and long-term writing for coursework, research and publication purposes. This service is also ideal for academic faculty and thesis supervisors interested in exploring how to develop their students' discipline-specific communication, or how to use writing as a thinking tool to help their mentees develop their research ideas.

Customised Workshop

An on-site, interactive and discipline-specific workshop targeted at a small group of participants with an interest in making visible the 'hidden rules of the game' or the tacit knowledge about writing and publishing in their discipline. We can also support university subject departments in staff capacity-building, so that ownership of and agency for graduate writing support can in time be developed and implemented within the departments themselves. It is possible to offer the workshop online.

Our Coaching Approach

We meet you where you are.

Our coaching is tailored to your unique needs, goals, and stage of writing—whether you’re just starting or refining your final draft.

We offer field-sensitive, constructive feedback.

We provide attentive, adaptive support that respects your field’s norms. Our feedback is specific and practical, helping you move your work forward with confidence.

We focus on process, not just product.

We help you develop sustainable writing habits and strategies, supporting you through every stage of drafting, revising, and reflecting.

We foster a supportive, non-judgmental space.

We create an environment where you can ask questions, navigate vulnerability, and grow as a writer—without fear of evaluation.

We prioritise your voice and agency.

Our goal is to help you clarify your ideas and strengthen your scholarly identity, not to impose a single “right” way to write.

We empower you for long-term success.

Beyond the immediate project, we equip you with the skills, strategies, and confidence to thrive as an independent scholar and communicator.

Our Ethical Commitment

We guide you to develop your own ideas and writing—we do not offer ghostwriting services.

We do not advise on research design, as we respect your content expertise and that of your supervisor.

All coaching is conducted by highly qualified and experienced writing professionals; we do not use student coaches. While we value students-as-partners, we also believe that expertise matters and prefer to support your advanced writing needs in a direct coaching partnership.

We do not provide editing or proofreading. However, we do help you revise passages where clarity or meaning may be compromised.

We do not re-grade or independently examine work that has already been graded by your course instructors, in order to respect institutional decisions. However, we do help you make sense of their feedback for revision purposes.

We are committed to maintaining confidentiality. We take confidentiality seriously because we understand the stakes—whether you're preparing a dissertation or submitting to a journal. We do not share your drafts or use them to train AI tools. We have been dissertators ourselves, and we honour the trust placed in us when you bring us your original work.
